I didn't start Purdy Paintz by watching YouTube videos or picking up a brush one weekend. I went through the Painters and Drywallers Union apprenticeship program, learning proper surface prep, material selection, and application techniques from professionals who'd been doing this for decades. That training taught me how to handle everything from old plaster walls to modern drywall, and how to make paint jobs last years instead of months. After working union jobs across Missouri, I started my own company to bring that same level of skill to homeowners and businesses in Macon County, Adair County, and the surrounding area.
Painting isn't glamorous, but it changes how people feel about their space. A fresh coat makes a room lighter, a home more welcoming, a business more professional. I've seen clients walk into their newly painted living room and just stop for a second, surprised at how different it looks. That reaction never gets old. We care about getting the details right because sloppy work shows up immediately and gets worse over time. Your walls, your business, your investment — they deserve someone who knows what they're doing and takes pride in the result.
Our Team
Meet the Purdy Paintz Team:

Owner & Lead Painter
I run every job from start to finish. You call me, I show up for the estimate, and I'm on-site during the work making sure everything meets the standard I set when I started this company. Twenty-plus years in painting means I know how to handle whatever comes up, and I won't leave until the job's done right.

We paint homes — inside and out. Bedrooms, kitchens, living rooms, trim work. If it needs a brush or roller, we handle it. Colors stay true, lines stay clean, and the finish holds up for years.

Offices, restaurants, retail spaces, apartment complexes. We work around your schedule to minimize downtime. Professional results that make your business look sharp and well-maintained.

Walls, ceilings, trim, doors. We prep the surfaces right so paint sticks and looks smooth. No streaks, no missed spots. Just clean, even coverage that transforms your space.

Weather-resistant paints applied correctly so your home or building stays protected. We handle siding, trim, shutters, and decks. Paint jobs that stand up to Missouri summers and winters.

Wood decks, fences, cabinets, doors. Stain brings out the grain and adds protection. We prep, sand, and apply stain that soaks in evenly and lasts through the seasons.
Old wallpaper peels, bubbles, and makes rooms look dated. We strip it down to bare walls, repair any damage underneath, and prep the surface for fresh paint.
Popcorn texture collects dust and feels outdated. We scrape it off, smooth the ceiling, and leave you with a flat, modern surface ready for paint.

Driveways, siding, decks, fences. We blast away dirt, mold, and grime before painting or staining. Clean surfaces mean better adhesion and longer-lasting results.

Stain or paint your deck and fence to match your home's look. We treat the wood first, then apply color that holds up against sun, rain, and foot traffic.

We Visit Your Property and Talk Through What You Need
You call or text (660) 591-6819, and we schedule a time to walk through your home or business. We measure the space, check the surface condition, ask about your color preferences and timeline. You tell us what you want, we explain what's possible, and we make sure we're on the same page before putting anything on paper.
We Send You a Detailed Estimate and Lock in Your Schedule
Within a day, you get a written estimate that breaks down labor, materials, and how long the job will take. No vague numbers or surprise fees. If the price works for you, we pick dates that fit your schedule and order the materials. Once we commit to a start date, we show up ready to work.
We Prep, Paint, and Clean Up Like We Were Never There
We move furniture, tape edges, cover floors, and prep every surface so paint goes on smooth and sticks properly. Then we apply your chosen colors with clean lines and even coverage. When we're done, we clean up completely — no paint cans, no drop cloths, no mess. Just finished walls that look exactly how you wanted them.

Most full exterior paint jobs run between $3,000 and $8,000 depending on the size, condition, and prep work needed. Interiors vary based on room count and trim complexity. We provide detailed estimates after walking through your property and measuring everything.
Yes, as long as temperatures stay above 50 degrees and the surface is dry. Missouri winters can be unpredictable, so we monitor forecasts closely and plan around weather windows. Interior painting happens year-round without weather concerns.
A single room usually takes one to two days including prep, painting, and cleanup. Whole-house interiors range from a few days to a week depending on square footage and detail work. We'll give you a timeline upfront so you can plan around it.
We use Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore for most projects because they cover well and hold up over time. For exteriors, we recommend weather-resistant finishes that handle Missouri humidity and temperature swings. You pick the color, we pick the product that lasts.
Yes. Bring us a chip or photo and we'll match it at the paint store. If the existing color has faded or changed over time, we can adjust for that too. Most matches are exact or close enough that you won't see a difference.
We move smaller items out of the way and cover larger furniture with drop cloths. If you have heavy pieces like armoires or pianos, we work around them or ask you to arrange moving help. Either way, your belongings stay protected throughout the job.
Clear small items off walls, counters, and shelves in the rooms we're painting. Remove wall hangings and outlet covers if you can. We handle the rest — taping, covering floors, prepping surfaces. The less clutter, the faster we work.
Yes. If paint peels, cracks, or fails due to our workmanship within the first year, we'll come back and fix it at no charge. That doesn't cover damage from water leaks, impacts, or normal wear. Just poor prep or application, which rarely happens.
